In response to President Biden's executive order signed on January 28, 2021, there will be a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for healthcare.gov beginning February 15, 2021 through May 15, 2021. The Marketplace is implementing an aggressive outreach campaign in response to this SEP. We want to clarify a few things for you before you get any emails, text, or pre-recorded phone calls from the Marketplace that may imply you need to take action:


1. If you are currently on a plan through healthcare.gov or otherwise that suits your needs, there is NO action that needs to be taken on your part.


2. The plans and the tax credits remain the same as they were during the most recent open enrollment period, assuming you have not had a change in income. Updates to income are encouraged as your income changes and can be made at any time during the year.


3. Sometimes agents/brokers you are not associated with will use these SEP opportunities to contact you claiming to be from the Marketplace or claim action needs to be taken on your part. If you receive such a call, we'd advise you to hang up and contact our office directly via email or call us at 435-674-2221 to confirm the legitimacy of the call. Our office, a Marketplace representative, or your health insurance provider will not call you regarding this SEP specifically.


4. If you do feel a need to change your plan, please reply to this email or call us directly at 435-674-2221 so we can review your options with you as there are important factors you should consider. If you have family and friends in need of coverage, this is also a great time for us to assist them with that.
